This gave the Doomguy immense power and speed - he saved cities from lost battles and became an idol for the Sentinels. Acting on his own accord, the being known as The Wretch, an advisor of the Kahn Maykr enhanced Doomguy using the Divinity Machine, normally used to test one's faith and loyalty to the Maykrs. They used it to enhance their technology and strengthen their weapons and it only made the Doomguy more dangerous. The warriors quickly learned how to fight against these new enemies, partially thanks to the Doomguy, and decided to use their own magic power against them - an energy source they named Argent. Doomguy became a full-fledged Sentinel - just in time to fight in the Unholy Crusades when the Demonic threat finally reached Argent D'Nur. Although at first, they considered him little more than a barbarian, Doomguy proved himself in the Sentinels' arena, impressing both the Argenta Priests and the Kahn Maykr a deity-like figure leading the Maykr civilization that the Sentinels cooperated with. So to stop them, he stayed in Hell so that none may threaten mankind again.Īt some point, he was found by the order of the Night Sentinels ancient and legendary warriors that made their home in the realm of Argent D'Nur. He realized that no matter how many times he defeated the monsters, they would always return. The Demon Spitter, the Gatekeeper, the twin Mother Demons - they all sought mankind's destruction and all fell beneath Doomguy. At some point, it seemed safe for humans to rebuild Earth - but the Demons were unrelenting. He crushed the Hellish adversaries under his heel, continuing his fight even though a normal man would've collapsed from exhaustion. Fighting through what was once his home, the Marine joined the remaining human resistance and, after the rebel armies were devastated by the Demonic threat, he himself cleared the starport of the monsters and allowed humanity to leave the planet, perhaps to return when the Demons were no more. However, when he returned to his dimension - it was now Earth that was in ruins. Like it was nothing, Doomguy knocked the monsters back into Hell, destroying the Mastermind behind the attack as well. He had no name and his face was always obscured by his helmet - people simply called him Doomguy. Scientists nor guards nor soldiers stood a chance there was only one man who was capable of fighting back against the invaders. However, that invasion soon arrived - and with it, armies of Hellish beasts that butchered all men within. Long ago, when the Union Aerospace Corporation first colonized Mars and set up their research bases on the red planet, the threat of something as preposterous as a Demonic invasion was unbelievable.
